Trump Presidency Odds: Oddsmakers Predict Trump to be One-Term President

Trump looking sad as Melania appears to be kissing the democratic party in a meme format.

With slightly over a year left before the US citizens go to the polls, gambling operators have begun generating odds for the possibilities. The US Presidential election is slated for November 2020.

Even before the Democrats settled on their candidate to face the incumbent, the next American president odds are already in favor of the opposition. The odds on the Democratic nominee have been shifting throughout the year, while the weirdest Presidential candidates odds started shortening as well.

Odd generators feel that President Donald Trump’s stay at the White House could all but over if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gets into the ring. The former wrestler had made his announcement on the presidential contest but didn’t feel ready to serve two terms.

According to users on the online betting platform PredictIt, the Democratic Party is poised to win the presidential race scheduled for next year. The platform features a share of $ 0.57 for the Democratic Party while the ruling Republican has a paltry $0.46 shares.

Elsewhere, William Hill sportsbook features almost a similar result that indicates the Democratic Party candidate to be the next occupant of the White House. The site gives 4/5 for the Democrats while the Republicans have a 10/11 chance of retaining their crown.

These predictions are made with a lot of caution since the US law prohibits gambling on major political contests. In the case of these gambling platforms, the data only represents the offshore view. The ban came into effect considering how such odds could have an impact in the opinion of the US voters. Nonetheless, sportsbooks betting is still viewed as an international tool that anyone can access.

Other Candidates

As the race for the Democratic Party presidential ticket intensifies, six candidates have opted out of the race. The latest to quit the march to Washington is Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who made her announcement early in the week. Representative Seth Moulton and his compatriot Eric Swalwell had earlier bowed out of the race. Governor Jane Inslee of Washington and her compatriot John Hickenlooper of Colorado are other candidates who have left the scramble for the ticket. West Virginia legislator Richard Ojeda will not also go for the ticket that could’ve seen him seek the highest office in the land.

With the departure of six candidates in the race to fly the Democratic flag, the party now has five candidates. Senator Elizabeth Warren is favorite to floor other contestants that include fellow senators Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris. Former VP Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg are other candidates for the political battle.
