Indiana governor has finally legalized sports betting. The state is now 10th among the US states with legal betting after Iowa. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has signed the bill at the 11th hour, allowing betting on mobile and in land-based establishments.

New licensees will have to pay $100k to get the license. Moreover, a fee of $50k per year and a 9.5% revenue tax will apply. It is yet unclear whether the same rules will apply for online sportsbooks.

District of Columbia has also joined the club. As it is a Capital district, all new laws have to be approved by Congress. Since they did not attend to the betting bill, it came into force automatically. Betting will be available via mobile and in land-based sportsbooks.

Among the US states that move closer to legal betting are Tennessee and Colorado. The latter state’s Senate has approved the bill and it has to be signed by the governor.

As more and more states open their betting markets, new operators enter North America. For example, NetEnt has started working with DraftKings in New Jersey. In the meantime, Evolution has received an award for their accomplishments in the region.
