Much like the famous Baccarat Queen, who was being sued by a casino in Atlantic City, Wong Yew Choy, a Singaporean VIP player is being sued by The Star Gold Coast casino for 42 mln Australian dollars.

It is reported that the Queensland casino gave the player A$2 as “lucky money” to play for free, as a marketing ploy, after flying him in to gamble at the casino.

The casino says that the player has tried to cash out with A$40m, which was approved, but later increased by another A$10m. In his defense, Wong claims that the Baccarat dealer made several mistakes during his game and says that the casino’s COO has confirmed it in writing.

Such a sum is unprecedented for casino vs. high-roller court cases, making it the largest casino debt case ever, at least in Singapore.

Wong Yew Choy is reportedly a very well-known casino player around the world and in the Asian market. Apparently, this kind of credits for playing in a casino that attracts other high-rollers is not rare and can also be used by Wong’s defense as a sign of the defendant’s trustworthiness.
