World Bet

In the context of craps, a world bet (aka whirl bet) is a wager made on the numbers 2 / 3 / 7 / 11 / 12.  

The bet consists of a horn bet that is hedged with an any seven bet. The horn bet is a combination bet is placed on the shooter rolling a 2, 3, 11 or 12, whereas an any seven bet (big red) is a wager placed on the shooter rolling a 7.

The actual odds of winning on a whirl bet are 2:1.

The total house edge on the world bet is 13.33%, which makes it one of the statistically less appealing bets for a craps player.

World Bet (Whirl Bet) Logic

The whirl bet is considered to be a safer (but less profitable) variation of the standard horn bet.

The any 7 bet serves as a hedge for the horn bet. If a 7 is rolled, then the player wins breaks even.

On the horn bet side of the equation, if the shooter rolls a 2 or 12, the payout is 52:10. If the shooter rolls a 3 or 11, the payout is 22:10.
