Norwegian gambling regulator has given Kindred three weeks to cease operations of their four brands in the country. The company has appealed the decision. Nevertheless, it does not look good for Kindred.

At the beginning of the week, Norway’s regulator has issued an order for Trannel International Ltd. The company is a subsidiary of Kindred that operates Unibet, MariaCasino, Storspiller and Bingo.com. The regulator urges the company to “stop the illegal offer of money games from these gaming sites.”

This follows the list that the regulatory body has made a few months back. The list included six Malta-licensed operators, from which the Norwegian financial institutions were prohibited to process any transactions.

There are several reasons for inclusion in the list. First and foremost, the use of Norwegian language in marketing, Norwegian site versions and accepting Norwegian currency are all actions that break the country’s law, according to the regulator. Additionally, Kindred’s brands allegedly provide unfair competition to the country’s state-run gambling monopolies.

Allegedly, the above-mentioned sites have provided instructions to bypass the transactions restriction. This also seems to be the reason for the boot with a three-week notice.
